New Delhi : Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Tuesday announced that India will host the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on May 14 and 15, 2026. The meeting will be chaired by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and will see participation from BRICS foreign ministers and heads of delegations from member and partner countries.
Shri Jaiswal said the visiting foreign ministers and delegations will also call on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during their visit to India.
During the meeting, foreign ministers of BRICS member countries are expected to exchange views on a range of global and regional issues of mutual interest. Discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation among BRICS nations and addressing key international developments.
On the second day of the meeting, BRICS member and partner countries will participate in a special session themed “BRICS at 20: Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.” The session will be followed by deliberations on reforms of global governance and the multilateral system.
The MEA spokesperson noted that the last meeting of BRICS foreign ministers was held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 26, 2025. That meeting was chaired by India in its capacity as the incoming Chair of BRICS for 2026.
